Skaneateles, located on the northern tip of Skaneateles Lake, is known for its fantastic foliage that typically comes about in late September to mid-October. Enjoy the best of the lake and the foliage when you take a scenic cruise that is perfect for leaf peeping. Cruises depart from Clift Park, which is also an ideal spot for a fall hike.
The US News report consists of the 50 absolute best small towns to find crimson red, amber gold, and soft orange tones in the leaves once the fall season arrives. The list is comprised specifically of small towns to incorporate some lesser-known areas for prime leaf peeping opportunities.
