Discover Maple Season in New York State: Maple Farms & Producers
Did you know New York State is the second largest producer of maple syrup in the United States after Vermont? Maple sugaring is one of the region's seasonal traditions, and many of the state's maple farms and producers begin tapping trees in early March.
For an up close and personal look at the maple sugaring process, members of the New York State Maple Producers Association invite members of the public to their sugar houses each spring so they can experience the tradition. These open houses take place during two weekends in March, and over 100 farms and museums participate.
